Giving Back

February 2025 - RSPCA NSW

Each month, a member of the SNDYS team has the opportunity to select a charity that holds personal significance to them. For every sale made during that month, we proudly contribute $1 to the chosen cause, extending our impact beyond fashion.

Holly has graciously shared with us her reason as to why RSPCA holds a special place in her heart.

"I chose this charity because of my lifelong love for animals. As a child, I would often visit the pound to observe the dogs and cats, which sparked my deep connection to their well-being. This charity is especially meaningful to me as it works tirelessly to improve the lives of animals that have been harmed, neglected, or abandoned. Through providing essential care, protection services, and advocating for animal rights, they are making a real difference in the lives of these vulnerable creatures."

Who Are RSPCA NSW & What Do They Do?

Caring for Animals, Supporting Communities: The Mission of RSPCA NSW

At RSPCA New South Wales, every animal matters. As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare, they are committed to providing care, treatment, protection, and rehoming services for animals in need across the state. Whether they are abandoned, neglected, injured, or surrendered, no animal is turned away.

But their mission goes beyond rescue. They believe in the power of education and community support to create a future where animals and people thrive together.

A Network of Care

RSPCA NSW operates five shelters, two rehabilitation centers, and three veterinary hospitals, all dedicated to treating, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. Their services extend beyond traditional shelters—over 20 volunteer branches and support groups help organize fundraising events, microchipping, and spaying/neutering drives to assist lower-income communities.

While many associate them with caring for cats and dogs, their work reaches a variety of animals, including horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, goats, and sheep. Each life is valuable, and they are proud to offer sanctuary and support to all creatures great and small.

Supporting Owners in Need

Animal welfare is intrinsically linked to human well-being. That’s why RSPCA NSW also focuses on supporting pet owners who may be facing hardships. Their programs provide education and assistance in areas such as domestic violence, aged care, homelessness, and mental health. By keeping people and their pets together, they ensure that both receive the care and stability they deserve.

Protecting Animals Through Enforcement

Beyond rehabilitation and support, they are at the forefront of animal protection. Their Inspectorate is the largest animal enforcement unit in New South Wales, with over 30 dedicated inspectors investigating reports of animal cruelty. Their call center ensures that concerns about animal welfare are heard and addressed promptly, reinforcing their commitment to justice and compassion.

Why It Matters

Animals bring joy, companionship, and unconditional love into our lives. They remind us of kindness, loyalty, and the importance of living humanely. At RSPCA NSW, they strive to ensure every animal is given the respect, care, and protection they deserve.

By supporting their work—whether through adoption, volunteering, or donations—you help them build a future where animals and people coexist in harmony. Because every life matters, and together, we can make a difference.
